Conference participants and their acompanions are encouraged to attend one-day or half-day trip/s to the top 3 most attractive places in Slovenia, namely Bled, Postojna Cave and Slovenian Coast. Trips can be organized prior, during or after the conference. 

1. Trip to Bled

Bled is one of the most popular tourist and getaway spots in Slovenia, located in Gorenjska region in the midst of Alps. Its main speciallity is the small island rising from the centre of Bled lake. Its amazing surrounding invites you to explore its hidden corners and enjoy romantic moments while admiring breathtaking scenery. It also offers numerous outdoor activites, such as hiking, climbing, biking, swimming, rowing, canyoning, etc.  In the past, Bled was the summer residence and beloved getaway spot of the Karađorđević royal family and later also of Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito.

2. Trip to Postojna Cave

Postojna cave is the largest cave in the "classic" karst as well as the most visited cave in Europe. Visiting Postojna cave offers visitor to see numerous natural attractions, among which beautiful creations from water and limestone (stalactites and stalagmites) as well as unique human fish (Proteus) are the most typical ones. There are also many cultural attractions, such as the oldest underground post office and Postojna underground railway, which winds trough the majestic natural halls and tunnels.

3. Trip to Slovenian Coast

Although Slovenian Coast is only 47 km long, its picturesque towns and countryside offer numerous beautiful sightseeing spots and outdoor activities. Town Piran with narrow streets within the old town wall, town Portorož known for well-maintained beaches, wellness and bars, small settlement Sečovlje Salina with beautiful salt pans, mediteranean village Hrastovlje best known for Holy Trinity Church, which contains a late-medieval Danse Macabre fresco, are just some of its attractions.
